UNIVERSITY COMMENCEMENT CEREMONY TICKETS
Most degree candidates may request up to four tickets; however, only
three are guaranteed. The fourth ticket will be granted if enough tickets
are available. If not, a lottery will be held for the fourth ticket.
(There is no guarantee that the fourth ticket will be assigned with
the others.) Graduate Business, Graduate School Ph.D. and Master's
degree candidates may request up to two guest tickets.
Degree candidates ordering 1 or 2 tickets before the ticket deadline
will be guaranteed seats together in the lower arena. Three tickets
will be seated together either in the lower or upper arena. There is
no arena floor seating. This space is reserved for the degree candidates.
If you intend to participate in the Sunday 2:00 p.m. University Commencement
Ceremony, complete the Commencement Ticket
Request and specify the number of Commencement guest tickets. Return the form by mail or fax to the Office of the Registrar no later than Friday, March 28, 2008. If any of your guests has
a physical restriction and requires special seating, please indicate
this in detail on the request.
Commencement tickets are scheduled to be distributed in the Eck
Visitors Center Auditorium on Thursday and Friday, May 15 and 16, from
8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. In order to obtain your tickets, you must
present your student I.D. (or other photo I.D.) and your receipt showing
that you have rented a cap and gown.
If you will not be on campus until the morning of the Commencement
Ceremony, please inform us so that you may obtain the tickets reserved
for your guests at Gate 10 of the Joyce Center between 9:00 a.m. and
10:00 a.m., on Sunday, May 18.
All tickets are assigned randomly according to the number of tickets
requested.
Univesity Commencement Ceremony tickets are given to each graduate
by the University, but may not be transferred for a consideration (including,
but not limited to money, gifts, property). Violation of this regulation
may mean you will not be allowed to receive or retain any Commencement
tickets.
Closed circuit television of the ceremony will be available in DeBartolo
Hall for those guests who do not have tickets.
IN ABSENTIA FORM
Please complete the In Absentia form to notify the Office of
the Registrar that you will not participate in the Sunday 2:00 p.m. University Commencement Ceremony. You must complete and submit
the In
Absentia Request form no later than April 28, 2008 to
the Office of the Registrar, 105 Main Building.
PERSONALIZED ANNOUNCEMENTS
You may purchase personalized announcements with your name and degree
printed from Jostens,
Inc. If you need more information or prefer to order in person,
a Jostens sales representative will be available on campus on Tuesday
and Wednesday, March 18 and 19, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., in the
Dooley Room of the LaFortune Student Center (1st Floor). Extra announcements may be ordered at any time from Jostens, Inc.

You may find information about ordering your Cap and Gown at the Hammes
Bookstore web site.

ON CAMPUS ACCOMMODATIONS
Information from the Center
for Continuing Education in McKenna Hall about the schedule of events
for the Commencement weekend, meals, and on-campus accommodations will
be sent to your home address. If you or your parents have not received
this information by mid-March, contact the Commencement Accommodations
Office, 115 McKenna Hall, Notre Dame, IN 46556. You can contact that
office at (574) 631-7640.
SPECIAL WEEKEND REGISTRAR OFFICE HOURS
The Office of the Registrar, 105 Main Building, will be open 8:30
a.m.-3:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 17. The office will not be open
on Sunday. Please see the Commencement Ticket information
if you are not planning to arrive on campus until Sunday.
Normal office hours are 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
