
This page is to inform January 2010 Degree
Candidates of necessary Graduation information (diploma, announcements,
etc.) Further information regarding your participation in the May 2010
Commencement exercises will be forthcoming in early March (e.g. cap
and gown rentals, commencement rain tickets, on campus accommodations,
etc.) Please note: there is no January ceremony. Ph.D., Masters,
Graduate Business and Undergraduate diplomas without graduation honors
will be mailed by January 29, 2010. Undergraduate diplomas with graduation
honors will be mailed in late March.
All students are invited to the Sunday morning University Commencement Ceremony on May 16 in the Notre Dame Stadium. Information regarding May 2010 Commencement can be found on the Office of the Registrar homepage.
All Graduate School, Mendoza College of Business Graduate, and Law School degree candidates:
your ceremonies will be held on Saturday, May 15. Ph.D. candidates
will be hooded at this time.
All Undergraduate degree candidates: your ceremonies will be held on Sunday, May 16 in the afternoon.
If you plan to graduate, and your name appears on the graduation list
for January 2010, please read the items listed below.

ACTION ITEMS:
DIPLOMA & COMMENCEMENT PROGRAM CHANGES
Verify your degree, name, and hometown
as they will appear in the May 2010 Commencement Program and your name
as it will appear on your diploma. If you need to change
your graduation information, the request must be received by the
Office of the Registrar, 105 Main Building, no later than Monday,
November 16, 2009 or a $50.00 fee will be assessed.
Please note that the diploma you will receive (except Law) is made of
sheepskin. If you do not want your diploma on sheepskin, but rather
on paper, please send a signed written request (not e-mail) to: Office
of the Registrar, 105 Main Building, Attn: Nancy Osth, no later than
Monday, November 16, 2009.
PERSONALIZED ANNOUNCEMENTS
You may purchase personalized announcements with your name and degree
printed from Jostens,

FINANCIAL ACCOUNT
Your financial account needs to be settled in full prior to the graduation
date. Questions regarding financial accounts should be directed
to the Office of Student Accounts at (574) 631-7113. You may go to the
"Student Account Balance" link through insideND
to view your account.
If your financial account has not been settled, a notice will be inserted
in your diploma cover in place of your diploma. Once you have settled
your account, your diploma will be mailed to you.
FEDERAL STUDENT LOANS
Graduating students who have borrowed from the Federal Perkins Loan
are required to complete online Perkins Exit Counseling. This is a graduation
requirement.
Graduating students who have borrowed from the Federal Stafford Loan
are required to complete online Stafford Exit Counseling. This is a
graduation requirement.
Group Exit Interview Sessions are conducted on campus for those students
on campus for the Fall.

HOLDS
To receive your diploma, all charges assessed to your financial account
before graduation must be paid in full at the Office of Student Accounts,
100 Main Building.
You may go to the "View Holds" link through
insideND to view your holds. Please use the Student Academic tab, then Student Academic Services channel, select Personal Information, Student Services tab, then select Student Record, where you will be able to view your holds.
HONORS DISTINCTION (Does not apply to Graduate
School degree candidates)
Latin Honors
at the time of graduation are based on your cumulative GPA as of the
end of the last semester completed at Notre Dame. Assigned honors are
unofficial until your Fall semester grades are received and calculated.
If your honors designation changes, a corrected diploma will be mailed
in late March. Since the Latin Honors for Undergraduates will not be
determined until February, diplomas with a possibility of honors will
be printed in late February, and mailed in late March. Make sure you
have furnished the Office of the Registrar with an address valid
through March 2010.
REGISTRAR OFFICE HOURS
The Office of the Registrar, 105 Main Building, will be open 8:00
a.m.-5:00 p.m.
