- What is a “What If…?” audit?
- Q: What is Degree Audit?
A: Degree Audit is a web-based advising tool that allows students
to track their progress toward a particular degree, detailing completed and in-progress courses as well as the requirements still pending.

- Q: Why was Degree Audit developed?
A: Degree Audit was developed as a service to both students and
advisors, to clearly display the requirements for completing a program
of study. Students will be
able to make better educated course registration decisions, weigh
the pros and cons of adding a second or supplementary major, minor,
or concentration, as well as explore the requirements for other
courses of study. Advisors
will have real-time access to a student’s record, displaying
the most recent grades posted and in-progress courses.
Degree Audit will elevate
the level of academic advising across the University.

- Q: Will Degree Audit replace my “traditional”
faculty advising?
A: No. Students will still have a faculty advisor assigned by their
department or college. Degree Audit is an advising tool
that will help students better understand their requirements
for graduation, and to take better advantage of the time spent with
their advisor.

- Q: How do I access Degree Audit?
A: Degree Audit can be accessed via insideND with
your Net ID and password. Degree Audit is a link on the Student
Services channel for student use, and on the Advising Services
channel for Advisors.

- Q: How do I read my audit?
A: The audit is broken down into requirement areas, such as the Major(s), Supplementary Major(s),
College, University, Minor(s), University Seminar, and Electives.
A "No" next to a requirement indicates that it has
not been completed, a
"Yes" indicates the requirement has been completed
successfully. The columns on the left detail the requirement,
with a label or a specific discipline code and course number.
The columns on the right indicate what class was used
to fulfill the requirement.

- Q: How do I obtain a copy of my audit?
A: Students will be able to print their audit directly from the
web. Put a check-mark in the "Printer-Friendly Version,"
then use the browser Print function.

- Q: Can I use a printout of my Degree Audit in
place of a transcript?
A: No. Degree Audit does not replace the official University transcript.
It is an advising tool only, and is not considered an official
University document. Transcripts can be requested from the Registrar’s
Office using the online
form or in person at 105 Main Building.

- Q: Where is my name listed on the audit that I view
on the web?
A: The student’s name and ndID are displayed in the upper right-hand
corner of each session they log into.

- Q: What does "Total Credits and GPA" mean?
A: The "Total Credits and GPA" indicates the total
number of credits that have been applied to that particular requirements
area and the GPA of those credits. The total number of credits
required for a specific area will be indicated in parenthesis in
the title block of the area, if a total number of credits has been
specified.

- Q: What if my degree audit displays requirements
that are incorrect?
A: Every effort has been made to code the requirements correctly
for each course of study. However, many departments do make modifications
to their degree requirements from time to time. If your audit displays a requirement that you
think is incorrect, contact your advisor to verify the requirement. Your advisor can explain the requirement to
you, determine if an individual exception is appropriate, or contact the Office of the Registrar to make a coding change to the appropriate degree requirements.

- Q: I'm a dual-degree student. Where is the audit for my other degree?
A: Students with dual degrees will need to specify which degree requirements
they want to review prior to running an audit. The Curriculum Review screen
is where the student would select the appropriate degree.

- Q: What about cross listed courses? I took a class that
I thought fulfilled the requirement but I took it under a different department heading.
A: Cross-listed courses may not show up in the correct place. Different departments have different
policies with regard to how they want their requirements coded into Degree Audit. If you took a
cross-listed course that fulfilled a required course but it's not showing up in that requirement's box, you
should contact either your departmental advisor or the Dean of your college. They can either have the
cross-listed course added to the code, or they can process a change of discipline form to have the course
applied under the parent course discipline.

- Q: What is a “What If...?” audit?
A: The “What If…?” audit displays the student’s academic record as it would be
applied to the major, or combination of majors, they are considering.
Basically, the “What If…?” audit lays out the requirements
for a different major, or combination of majors, and applies the
courses the student is currently taking and has already taken against
those requirements so the student can gauge their progress toward
that major or combination of majors. This will be a helpful tool for underclassmen
who are considering changing majors or
considering adding a major or minor to their current course of study.
