As January degree candidate, you are eligible to participate in the May 2022 Commencement exercises, as long as you have not previously participated for the same degree. Please note: there is no January University Commencement Ceremony. You will be emailed information in March for May Commencement Weekend (e.g. cap and gown rentals, commencement guest tickets, on campus accommodations, etc.). This information will be sent to your Notre Dame email address which will remain active until 60 days after the May 2022 graduation.
Diplomas will be available for pick-up in the Office of the Registrar, 300 Grace Hall, on or after February 4. Please remember to bring a valid Photo I.D. Diplomas will be mailed to those who provided a diploma mailing address via their Graduation Application. Diplomas will not be automatically sent to your home address.
COMPLETE YOUR GRADUATION APPLICATION
Complete your Graduation Application (Tabs 1,2,3). Enter your name and hometown
as they will appear in the May 2022 Commencement Program and your name
as it will appear on your diploma. The deadline for submitting is Friday, November 4. After November 4, there will be a $65.00 fee assessed for changes to your diploma. If a hometown is not provided, your current home address will be used in the program.
You may purchase personalized announcements with your name and degree
printed from Balfour/CB Grad. They are the official provider of University of Notre Dame announcements. Extra announcements may be ordered at any time. If you need further information, please contact Balfour/CB Grad directly.
Your financial account needs to be settled in full prior to the graduation
date. Questions regarding financial accounts should be directed
to the Office of Student Accounts at (574) 631-7113. You may go to the
"My Student Account" task through insideND
to view your account.
If your financial account has not been settled, you will be sent a notice in place of your diploma. Once you have settled
your account, your diploma will be mailed to you. It will not be mailed automatically, you must first provide your diploma mailing address to Amy Routson.
FEDERAL STUDENT LOANS
Graduating students who have borrowed from the Federal Perkins Loan
or Federal Stafford Loan are required to complete the online exit counseling. This is a graduation

To receive your diploma, all charges assessed to your financial account
before graduation must be paid in full at the Office of Student Accounts,

HONORS DISTINCTION (Does not apply to Graduate
School degree candidates)
at the time of graduation are based on your cumulative GPA as of the
end of the Fall semester.

Address Changes - Check your active addresses with the University by logging into insideND, then to your Contact Information task. You can email address changes to Address.firstname.lastname@example.org. Please make sure to include your NetID or NDID and the date your address will become active. The University will need an active address to mail your W-2 statement.
IF YOU INTEND TO PARTICIPATE IN MAY 2022 CEREMONIES
In late February, 2022, you will receive an email asking you to return to the Graduation Application to R.S.V.P. for your Diploma Ceremony and Commencement Mass and to request guest tickets for the University Commencement Ceremony.
Check your Notre Dame email account periodically for additional commencement information. Your email account will remain active for 60 days after the May, 2022, graduation. You may also receive information from your college or department on Commencement-related activities.
GradFair - (Tuesday, March 15, 2022). If you are unable to attend, please check the Commencement website for information on ordering your cap and gown, on-campus accommodations, and ticketed meals, etc.
