May I request a particular type of room for my class?
  • Preferences for active learning spaces, computer labs, and specific pedagogical needs may be requested prior to the start of course scheduling. For Fall, preferences are collected in late February. For the Spring semester, information is gathered in early October. Submit a preference by emailing roomreq@nd.edu.
  • Once rooms are assigned, we work with instructors on a case-by-case basis. Changes are made based on room availability, and we do not guarantee that options will be available, especially during prime-time hours.
What technologies are available in Registrar rooms?
  • Rooms that are considered full technology have a PC located at a lectern allowing for one or more displays along with a document camera.
  • All Registrar classrooms have Zoom functionality; microphones and cameras supporting Zoom vary based on the size of the room.
May I use a room outside my scheduled class time?
  • Rooms are available, based on building hours, for usage as exam reviews, class movies, presentations, etc. Faculty and staff may submit event requests online at http://scheduling.nd.edu.
How far in advance may I reserve a room for an event?
  • Summer: Events are not scheduled until after summer room assignments are distributed, usually late March.
  • Fall/Spring: The Registrar rooms are primarily used for regular class meetings during day time hours. Classes are given priority in all Registrar rooms and may bump any reservation that impacts the course schedule. Reservations are not accepted for the Fall or Spring term until the first class day. Availability dates are posted online on each of the reservation templates in http://scheduling.nd.edu. We realize this is an inconvenience for many, but regularly-scheduled classes must remain our first priority when assigning space.
Can I use just any empty Registrar room?
You must reserve Registrar rooms online at http://scheduling.nd.edu (netID and password required). All active faculty and staff are permitted to use Registrar rooms. No outside groups or undergraduate students are permitted to reserve space, nor are faculty and staff permitted to reserve spaces for personal use.
